Sous Chef

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Sous Chef to join our kitchen team. As a Sous Chef, you will play a key role in creating delicious, well-presented dishes that showcase our commitment to quality. You will work closely with Head Chef to prepare a variety of menu items, ensure food safety standards are met, and contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Prepare and cook a wide range of dishes, from breakfast items to lunch specials and baked goods. 

  • Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and cleanliness. 

  • Ensure all food preparation is in line with health and safety regulations. 

  • Assist in menu development and contribute creative ideas for seasonal or special menu items. 

  • Manage inventory and assist with ordering supplies when necessary. 

  • Keep the kitchen organized, clean, and efficient. 

  • Work with the front-of-house team to ensure smooth service and customer satisfaction. 

  • Handle customer dietary requirements and allergies with care. 


RECOMMENDED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

Breakfast Chef
Chef de Partie
Sous chef

Please note: You should have a minimum 2 years previous experience in the above or similar roles.


REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven experience as a sous chef or chef de partie in a fast-paced kitchen environment. 

  • A passion for food, creativity, and a keen eye for detail. 

  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards. 

  • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team. 

  • Strong communication and time-management skills. 

  • Experience with menu planning and inventory management is a plus. 

  • Flexibility to work early mornings, weekends, and public holidays as required.
