We are excited to bring you the opportunity to join the opening team of Horizon by SkyCity's exciting new high-end restaurant. This brand-new restaurant will boast a spacious courtyard bar, outdoor dining and separate lobber bar - providing Auckland's newest favourite place for after work drinks, long lunches with friends and evening dinners.

About the role

We are looking for a well presented and friendly Restaurant Host with 1-2 years' experience in a al a carte restaurant environment. You will be the face of the restaurant and responsible for greeting and seating our valued customers as well as supporting the floor staff in delivering exceptional service.

Qualifications & Experiences
Required 

• 2-year hospitality experience & 1 year ‘a la carte’, experience
• Legislative requirements – Health & Safety, food safety, responsible service of alcohol and Host Responsibility
• Sound and proven oral and written communication skills 
• Comprehensive knowledge of the menu and wine list and have the ability to confidently food and wine match.
• Food Production: Knowledge of techniques and equipment for of food preparation and consumption including rotation methods, food storage & handling techniques 
• Good level of numeracy skills
• Customer and Personal Service: Knowledge of principles and processes for providing exceptional customer service including assessment techniques, quality service standards, alternative delivery systems, and customer satisfaction evaluation techniques 
• High level of English, oral and written communication

Preferred

• Previous, demonstrable bartending experience in a similar role
• Cultural awareness obtained through leading or being part of a multi-national team
• Strong industry networks
