JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for an experienced lead breakfast chef to join our kitchen team, for a immidate start.

About us:

We will be opening our new Café / Restaurant beach side in Surfers Paradise and require a chef to take lead and create a vibrant, seasonal menu to go with our newly renovated venue.  

We will be providing our staff with great training and development opportunities, as well as a fun and friendly working environment.

We are looking for a committed chef who is passionate, reliable & motivated. We are searching for chefs who want to be part of a professional team, to play key roles within the kitchen and buy into our philosophy.

To be successful in these roles you will be:

  • Managing breakfast service to our high standards,
  • Overseeing and coordinating the kitchen's breakfast requirements including ordering, stock control and preparation,
  • Developing work lists, delegating accordingly and ensuring timely, high quality preparation for services.
  • Able to work independently.
  • Great attention to detail.
  • Passionate in what you do.
  • Available to work early mornings on a rotating roster including weekdays and weekends. 
  • Experienced in working in a fast-paced kitchen.
  • Have experience in menu creation.
  • Knowledge in food costing.
  • Have used Microsoft excel and word.
  • Be punctual and adhere to deadlines.

Please note: You should have a minimum 2 years previous experience in the above or similar roles.


REQUIREMENTS

  • Hygiene and positive attitude are paramount.
  • Attention to detail and presentation
  • Highly self-motivated with customer satisfaction your priority
  • A focus on efficient service, quality and consistency
  • Experience in fast pace high volume kitchen a must
  • Must have clear communication skills and work well in a team
  • Have experience in menu creation
  • Knowledge in food costing
  • Have used Microsoft excel and word
  • Be punctual and adhere to deadlines

A clear understanding of food safety laws and practices is necessary. You will help with ordering, stock rotation and daily cleaning as required.
