JOB DESCRIPTION

About the role


As a Front Office Receptionist at Quest On Hobson', you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring a seamless experience for our guests. In this part-time position, you will be responsible for managing the front desk operations at our centrally located property in Auckland CBD, Auckland.

 

What you'll be doing

  • Warmly greeting and assisting guests upon arrival and departure
  • Efficiently checking guests in and out, processing payments, and addressing any queries or concerns
  • Providing information about the hotel's facilities, local attractions, and recommended activities
  • Handling telephone inquiries, emails and booking requests in a professional and courteous manner
  • Maintaining a high level of cleanliness and organisation at the front desk
  • Assisting with various administrative tasks as required


 

What we're looking for

  • Previous experience in a customer-facing role, preferably within the hospitality industry
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with people from diverse backgrounds
  • Excellent time management and multitasking abilities to handle various responsibilities simultaneously
  • Proficient in using computer systems and technology to perform daily tasks
  • A friendly, professional, and customer-focused attitude
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays

Please note: You should have a minimum up to 6 months previous experience in the above or similar roles.


REQUIREMENTS

Experience

  •  Prefer 1 year of experience or more in a hotel front office, receptionist, or guest service role.

 Skills & Competencies

  • Strong customer-service focus with a positive, professional attitude.
  • Accurate cash-handling and record-keeping skills.
  • Attention to detail and strong organisational skills.

 Personal Qualities

  • Reliable and punctual with a high level of integrity.
  • Team player with the ability to work independently.
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends, and public holidays.

 Language & Communication

  • Fluent in English (spoken and written).

Legal & Other Requirements

  • Eligible to work in New Zealand.
  • Must be available for shift work, including early mornings and late nights.
  • Student Visa with 20 hours/ week is not considered.
