Based in the heart of the Clovelly community, Madame & Yves is an artisanal patisserie and boulangerie where everything is designed with the best ingredients that are sourced with care. Behind our offerings is a talented group of kitchen staff led by our pastry boss Yves Scherrer, coach of Australia’s team in the Coupe du Monde de la Pâtisserie (World Pastry Cup). We’re a bustling, busy and tight knit atmosphere where staff and customers connect over seriously good treats based in classic French technique with a modern, international sensibility.
The Opportunity
This is an excellent opportunity to bring your passion, expertise and experience to an environment that appreciates and recognises the hard work and dedication that goes into pastry... as well as an opportunity to grow with a growing enterprise. You will be reporting to and working closely with the owners of Madame & Yves as we look to grow and expand over the next year. We currently have Sous Chef and Pastry Chef de partie roles available, depending on experience. Our chefs will lead demis and commis by example and work closely with Chef Yves to ensure excellent product standards, an innovative menu in line with our reputation and maximum operational efficiency/productivity. A passion and eagerness for innovation and growth, along with a strong drive to inspire the best from our team members, are crucial skills in the successful candidate.
Formal culinary qualifications are preferred; as well as previous experience in patisseries. In-depth knowledge of and experience with patisserie offerings and technique Previous kitchen leadership experience, and the motivational skills that come with it
Passionate about product quality and innovation Ability to connect with and work as a team Demonstrated capacity to multitask in fast-based environments Exceptional communication skills Great time management and attention to detail Incredible work ethic, a positive outlook and good energy; ability to adapt and be solutions-focused Well presented and exceptional hygiene standards
