JOB DESCRIPTION

This is your opportunity to join the team of Sydney’s most exciting opening in 2020 - Introducing a’Mare, the all new Crown Sydney’s fine-dining waterfront Italian jewel… We are currently recruiting hospitality professionals to join our vibrant and experienced team!

a’Mare is a classical Italian fine-dining restaurant by Chef Alessandro Pavoni. It is an ode to both Italy’s glamorous old-school palazzi and to its beautiful Sydney waterside location. It’s about rediscovering the classical romance of Italian hospitality, and enjoying classic regional Italian dishes, simple yet perfect. It is polished and elegantly well presented, with the Italian eye for detail, with tableside service and an element of theatre. 

Alessandro Pavoni said, “It has been a dream of mine to create the best classical Italian restaurant in Australia. I am inspired by the nostalgic romance of dining out; when service was paramount, food was simply delicious and the maître-d knew your name. This is what I envisage for A’Mare at Crown Sydney.”

 

JUNIOR SOUS CHEF

Recruiting for a number of Junior Sous Chef positions across all aspects of our kitchen – hot, cold and prep commissary.

 

TASKS INCLUDE:

  • Work with Executive Chef and Head Chef and team in menu planning, recipe generation, cook offs, writing of tasting notes, training and implementation
  • Quality and Consistent Food Preparation and Cooking
  • Cost Control to Budget
  • Team Supervision and training

REQUIREMENTS

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Current Food Safety Supervisor Certificate

 

GENERAL a’MARE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Current working visa or Australian resident
  • Good English verbal skills
  • Knowledge of Italian language is desired but not essential
  • Very good personal grooming standards
  • Experience essential, preferred working knowledge of Italian cuisine
  • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, and work as a team player
  • Positive attitude and willing to both learn, share, and participate
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Love of food and providing fantastic experiences for the customer!
  • Hours can vary and can include weekend and holiday work
  • All employees will be required to undergo a police check

 

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of three years working in fine-dining restaurants
  • IELTS of more than 6 if not native English speaker
  • Formal Cooking Qualification
