JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for an experienced all-rounder who enjoys being part of a fun and enthusiastic team. This person will need to be capable of working in the kitchen as well as the bar and communicating with customers and the team.

The Cook/Bar Tender is an exciting dual role combining kitchen duties with bartending responsibilities. This unique opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys both preparing delicious meals and crafting memorable drinks. As a valued member of our team, you’ll play a key role in both the kitchen and behind the bar, ensuring quality, consistency, and a great customer experience.

We’re seeking an energetic and skilled individual who takes pride in their work and enjoys the variety of a dual cook/bar tender position. Our ideal team member is reliable, proactive, and eager to learn, with a can-do attitude and a friendly personality. You’ll be able to juggle tasks efficiently, communicate effectively with both guests and colleagues, and maintain composure when the restaurant is buzzing.

Key Duties in Detail

Kitchen Responsibilities

  • Preparing ingredients and cooking dishes according to recipes and safety standards.
  • Ensuring all food leaving the kitchen meets visual and taste expectations.
  • Cleaning and maintaining kitchen equipment, utensils, and workspaces.
  • Assisting with receiving, storing, and rotating stock to minimize waste.
  • Adhering to food safety regulations and practices at all times.

Bar Responsibilities

  • Welcoming guests at the bar, taking orders, and preparing beverages with accuracy and flair.
  • Maintaining a clean, organized, and well-stocked bar at all times.
  • Checking IDs and enforcing responsible service of alcohol policies.
  • Recommending drinks or food pairings to enhance the guest experience.
  • Handling cash and electronic transactions accurately.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to stand for extended periods and move quickly in a busy environment.
  • Lifting, carrying, or moving items up to 20kg as required.
  • Comfortable working with kitchen equipment, hot surfaces, and sharp utensils.
  • Adaptable to frequent handwashing and adherence to health and safety guidelines.

 


RECOMMENDED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

All-rounder

Please note: You should have a minimum up to 1 year previous experience in the above or similar roles.


REQUIREMENTS

  • 1-2 years experience in a similar position
  • The ability to work with efficiency and speed whilst maintaining quality
  • Enthusiasm with all tasks and the ability to work with confidence under pressure
  • A willingness to work with the team as well as unsupervised
  • Applicants must be flexible and be available to work a variety of day and weekend shifts
