The standard selection of dairy milk alternatives amongst baristas and coffee lovers has long been dominated by soy and almond milk. Now, a new alternative, oat milk, has recently entered the market and Vitasoy's Café for Baristas range has just released the first Australian made product of this kind. Naturally free from dairy, cholesterol, lactose, and soy, Vitasoy Café for Baristas Oat Milk looks to outweigh  all other competition. 

Vitasoy’s new Café for Baristas Oat Milk was created for the specialty coffee market, promoting its use by baristas using high quality coffee machines and coffee products. Vitasoy underwent a blind taste testing and trialling with six industry representatives who gave the product an 8.25 in frothing quality. Its texturing properties and ability to complement high quality coffee, whilst frothing just like regular milk, means it’s sure to be a fierce competitor in the market. Vitasoy’s Café for Baristas Oat Milk also does not compromise any coffee bean’s natural flavouring, so coffee lovers will still experience the coffee bean flavour - the heart of any coffee-drinking experience.  

Vitasoy uses 100% Australian oats to make their plant milk. Non-GMO oats are grown in the fertile soils of South Australia, Victoria, New South Wales and South-Western Australia, where they are harvested in late spring, gathered and delivered to Vitasoy’s Wodonga factory. Only the best oats are ground then blended with filtered water, oat flour and other important ingredients, such as calcium. In comparison to oat milks that are created using reconstituted powder, Vitasoy uses both whole ground oats as well as oat flour which gives an overall better texture to the end product.

In the past, the biggest question surrounding coffee has been the classic cappuccino versus latte debate, but now baristas are expecting this discussion to switch to which plant milk has the most benefits, both environmentally and in terms of drinking experience.
