Say Cheers To Your Local This Weekend!

Our partners at Lion have launched a new initiative to help support the NZ hospitality industry and get your favourite locals back on their feet. Cheers to Your Local is a social media campaign aimed at creating a much-needed sense of community, encouraging Kiwis to get out once more and show support by frequenting their best-loved local venues.  

The latest figures from Statistics New Zealand show spending on food and beverage services including cafes, restaurants and bars has dropped a shattering 95% compared with April 2019, down $814 million in just one month. To help support the industry and all our favourite locals Lion are asking Kiwis to get through the doors of local hospitality business' as they reopen in Alert Level 2.

For customers the campaign is encouraging you to share Cheers To Your Local across social media by inviting friends and families to join you in NZ's restaurants, cafes and bars in celebration of the industry's comeback.
